and exporting companies. Run seminars and briefings for
senior UK or Japanese staff of UK-based Japanese-owned
companies. Write on Japanese business.

Deputy Director: The Japan Centre, The University
of Birmingham. Established new centre, recruited academic
and support staff. Built up financially successful and
respected external business seminar programme. Secured
EU funding for, and ran, 4-year business advice project
('97-'01); recruited and managed team, and met all targets.
